KeLeen Snowgren Embraces Her Sultry Side as Morticia in The Addams Family on Tour

KeLeen Snowgren, who plays Morticia in the national tour of The Addams Family, is one morbid matriarch. The ooky, kooky musical comes to the Orpheum Theater from May 14 through May 19.

“I absolutely love how dark and sultry Morticia can be, “ Snowgren said. “She allows me to proudly display the darker qualities of my voice and transform into a sexy leading lady.”

Snowgren's credits include the national tour of Spamalot, Hairspray, The Producers and The Will Rogers Follies, but The Addams Family marks her first starring role in a big production. “My favorite moment of the show is when the ensemble and I line up for the kickline in ‘Just Around the Corner.’ I have always loved being in the ensemble, so I feel at home in this moment. We are a force to be reckoned with.”

In The Addams Family, Wednesday (Jennifer Fogarty) has fallen in love with a normal boy from Ohio and invited his parents to the Addams’ mansion for dinner. The visit throws Gomez (Jesse Sharp), Morticia and the rest of the clan into a night they’ll never forget.

Like the show says, “It’s family first and family last,” said Snowgren. “It means so much to me to be able to spread that message and allow families to find their own inner kookiness and embrace it.”
