Vote Now! Kinky Boots and Matilda Top the 2013 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award Nominations

April 15th, 2013 | By Broadway.com Staff

Are you ready to vote B'way? Broadway’s biggest fans announced the 2013 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations this morning. Kinky Boots topped nominations with eight and Matilda followed close behind with seven nods. Voting begins now and will end on Thursday, May 2 at noon. The winners will be announced live at the ceremony on Sunday, May 5 at The Allen Room in Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, Time Warner Center in New York City. VOTE HERE!

The revivals of Annie and Cinderella each received six nominations; while newcomers in the Favorite New Play category, Lucky Guy and The Nance both earned three nominations. Alan Cumming (Macbeth), Tom Hanks (Lucky Guy), Scarlett Johansson (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) and Bette Midler (I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers) all received multiple nominations.

Favorite Actress in a Play nominations include major heavy-hitting stars such as Jessica Chastain, Scarlett Johansson, Patti LuPone, Bette Midler and Sigourney Weaver; the Favorite Actor in a Play category is equally as impressive with Norbert Leo Butz, Alan Cumming, Tom Hanks, Nathan Lane and Jim Parsons all vying for the award.

The Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, now in its 14th year, are the only major theater awards voted on by Broadway’s biggest cheerleaders: the fans. Shortly after its launch in 2000, the editors of Broadway.com realized that the Broadway community was missing an award from the people: the actual fans that fill the seats, cheer on the stars and keep Broadway alive.

Below is a full list of nominees. Have fun and #VoteBway!
